We're glad you came by, but you might find what you're looking for elsewhere. TI-Basic Developer is not the site it once was. While its information on commands and other calculator features remains almost second-to-none, its forum, archives, and even hosting service, Wikidot, have been decaying for years. The calculator community would love to see what you're working on, or help you in your next coding adventure, but TI-Basic Developer is no longer the place to do it. Instead, you should head over to Cemetech (primarily American) or TI-Planet (primarily international). Both are active, well-established forums with their own archives, chatrooms, reference material, and abundant coding tools and resources. We'll see you there, we hope.

I just typed the code for this up real fast and I don't have a calculator with me, so could somebody please check to make sure this code works as intended remove all the bugs that I'm sure can be found in it / optimize it. Thanks.

This code assumes the dictionary is in Str0.

29 fewer bytes with fewer operations. Inlining is one valid strategy, but it only works when it works.

Furthermore, this being a direct optimization of your code, I can't seem to get either one to work right.

Well, this page hasn't been touched in nearly a decade. I looked through a lot of the code and thought there were some optimizations to be made and other technicalities addressed. I've also added more advanced dictionary commands to the tutorial. I've done my best to ensure these methods work, but if you notice any errors/glitches let me know.

EDIT: There is a bug in the program CONTAINS.

Here is the problem code;

inString(Str1+":")→N

I keep getting an Argument error with this.

EDIT 2: What is the order the dictionary is supposed to go?
