I came up with an idea for a custom Raspberry Pi powered graphing calculator a few months ago, but I have been slightly delayed by the holidays (I host thanksgiving and christmas) so I have not had a great deal of time to work on it. However, I finally finished ordering the parts, and the ones which have not yet arrived are going to arrive by tomorrow. The real problem I am facing is what to flash to my microSD. I want to get normal Raspbian, but its entire concept of a mouse based GUI would make it difficult to transform into a calculator, because I want a system that uses only keys. Besides, I want it to be able to load one thing at a time (namely, some sort of math application that can run on a Pi). On the other hand, Raspbian seems like the only option for using CEmu for the times that I want to run TIOS (as far as I know). If not Raspbian, what would be a good option? My main idea for this calculator is to run a menu. This menu should give options for some program to run, including the option to boot a calculator emulation. Also, I am using a brand new 32 GB microSD, so I probably can get anything. Any suggestions for what to do?

We're glad you came by, but you might find what you're looking for elsewhere. TI-Basic Developer is not the site it once was. While its information on commands and other calculator features remains almost second-to-none, its forum, archives, and even hosting service, Wikidot, have been decaying for years. The calculator community would love to see what you're working on, or help you in your next coding adventure, but TI-Basic Developer is no longer the place to do it. Instead, you should head over to Cemetech (primarily American) or TI-Planet (primarily international). Both are active, well-established forums with their own archives, chatrooms, reference material, and abundant coding tools and resources. We'll see you there, we hope. |
