I was an electronics technician in the Navy and now plan to use my GI Bill benefits to pursue a degree in Computer Science.
I don't have any programming experience, except for a couple of small math programs that I have on my TI-83+ calculator which I've used for the past year in college math classes. I will be taking my first programming course in program logic and design at college this fall and plan to take a java course in the spring.
I'm interested in learning about programming concepts and techniques, but not sure if becoming acquainted with TI BASIC would be helpful in preparing me for object-oriented programming. I'm would also be interested in collaborating with others to create simple, open source, TI BASIC programs on GitHub to get my feet wet with that site.
