I have made the sidebar have collapsible menus in the 83 Portal. Which menus should be open by default, and which menus should be closed by default. Should we have them all closed for minimal space?
Very nice job on the side bar.
I really like the drop down idea. The important sections are the navigation, members, and perhaps related sites. I think that Site Navigation and Members should default open, and the rest probably closed. Here are some other things.
I think the editing pages section should be moved below members. The Site Manager should be put under the editing pages drop menu. The reasons? All the things under editing are barely looked at (at least by me) and the average viewer would not need to know how to edit pages anyway. The site manager needs to be under the editing section because first, it is about editing pages, and second, the average viewer shouldn't click it otherwise an error shows and they might feel less comfortable about the site. The navigation should be open since it is the basic menu for the whole site. The members should be open in order to show who is in the community, what we follow, and even entice them to contribute what they know by becoming a member. The other two can be closed for space.
Anyways, I wrote a lot.
Hmm…If you expand the "Commands" category, you'll notice that the last four links are repeated. I can't seem to edit the sidebar (mods/admins only?), so can someone change that?
Also, can you change it so that if one category is already expanded and the user tries to expand another one, the original is shrunk back to normal?
I noticed that bug before, but one time, I came on, an it was fixed. I don't know why.
