Calling all critics out there!

Lately I've been thinking and thinking of how to increase the popularity of a program I made. It is just, I have reached the point where a developer needs feedback from the users.
In other words, I don't know what is bad (or good) about the program, or what I could possibly add, to increase the overall enjoyability of the program.

I was wondering if somebody could critic my Bunny Gotchi program so that I could improve on it.

You could either leave a critic here, or private message me — either are perfectly fine, I just want valueble feedback.

Ok, tested, and it died :(. I liked watching it move around the screen and not going to the menu. That was it's downfall :'(. Poor bunnygotchi. Anyway, I would like to have other things in the main screen using randint(. If 1 then do whatever, if 2 do something else. It also got very slow and unresponsive at one point.

Hmm, you mean like… making things appear on the menu by chance?

"Slow and Unresponsive"… a very bad sign. Could you please elaborate?

I played the entire game and never had any problems with it at all. It was challanging at first, but then i figured out you just had to do what the arrows told you on the status menu, and you would win the game.

My suggestion: Take them out or change the idea, because it makes the game much easier and less strategic than if you were forced to actualy learn how much a bunny should weigh and such.

By the way, i loved the animations! They made the program!

EDIT: Although i did play it on an emulator, so that might have had some effects

Apparantly the game was too hard without the arrows. Now it's too easy. Perhaps an in-between?

What if I just had asterisks where something is wrong, rather than "more than" or "less than" symbols?

Also, at 7thAce, you said the program was very slow and unresponsive at one point… Could you please tell me what the program was doing? Was Bunny-Gotchi trying to connect to another bunny, when you had no other bunny connected? Because that would be a stupid complaint (stupid things happen when you do stupid things, don't take this as an insult).

Thanks for the input guys, although, could I ask for a bit more negative feedback? Negative feedback is the most helpful when trying to improve a program.

I have an idea for a future version even though I have not been able to play the game yet. You could make it where you can name your bunny then when you connect a cable to another calculator, you can "have your friends over".

It would be like 2 player. You could give your animal names at the beginning. Then have it store it as an appvar with celtic2. And if one of your friends just happen to have another person with a calculator and the bunny Gotchi game, you could have a setup part in the game that you could tell your friends name. If your friend added your name and you just happened to link up the two calculators, you could have one calculator be the hosting calculator and the other be the guest. Then, the guest Bunny would come to the Host calculator. If you had items, you could also trade items.

why would you need to store it as an apvar?
You could just store it in the custom list thats already created with the game and then there would be no need for a subprogram (Which some users find really annoying)

although this is true, I find it really annoying when some little kid goes and press 2nd+List and sees my list knowing its for my program then edits it which screws up the program because it had a value in it that the program didn't handle! So then the angry user comes up to me and says "your stupid program screwed up my calc" when it was only a domain error that was actually HIS fault.

Sorry for that rant.

Besides, if you do what I do an package it in an app, Which only takes a few minutes, then no one will know it has any subprograms, the appvar is safe, the appvar can store text, and your program can't be edited.

how do you package them into an app? That would be very usefull for a program i had finished, but not released yet to to its slowness.

(I know it probably wouldn't make it go faster, but if i could reduce it to a lot of small subprograms, it would run faster and the user would never know)

Ok slow and (not so much)unresponsive means that i would press a button and it would execute 3 seconds later. It may be my calculator though. :/
Anyway, even sometimes, I would press 3 buttons in a row, (I was repeating an action) 1, 2, 3, and it wouldn't even pick up on one of them. I do have a pretty slow cala, so that may be the problem. Great animation though!!! <3

Oh, in that case, nobody's stupid.

You see, the only buttons this program responds to are the top 5 buttons (F1, F2, etc, etc.), 2nd, ENTER and QUIT (MODE).

When you pressed 1, 2 and 3, what did you expect to happen? Perhaps I could intigrate what you would expect to be an actuality?

That did occur to me, actually.

For me to do that, I would have to come up with an ingenious way to write that part of the program with minimal size taken up… we'll see.

I downloaded Bunny Gotchi V1.6, and Everything works fine…EXCEPT, no matter how much I excercise it and let it sleep and everything it fitness, its Fitness level stays at 0. How do i fix this?

I noticed that too. Sorry about that.

The problem is this: Bunny Gotchi is simply aging too fast and it has become impossible for you to make Bunny Gotchi fit. Impossible because everytime you get a bit closer, Bunny Gotchi ages and you are pushed two steps backwards.

To get Bunny Gotchi to full fitness, you need to take good care of Bunny Gotchi from start to finish.

Again, I'm sorry about that.
