Help with Character D2

While its information on commands and other calculator features remains almost second-to-none, its forum, archives, and even hosting service, Wikidot, have been decaying for years. The calculator community would love to see what you're working on, or help you in your next coding adventure, but TI-Basic Developer is no longer the place to do it. Instead, you should head over to Cemetech (primarily American) or TI-Planet (primarily international). I want to use character D2 (the hyphen) for text sprites. The minus sign won't work for what I want to do. Is there any way to access the token (not just display the character)? I have looked for it in a bunch of extra characters programs, and none of them have had it. Is it even possible to get as a token (one that I can put into another program) or will I have to remake my sprites?

AFAICT no. All tokens are listed at tokens, and none of them are the hyphen. What text sprite method are you using that needs it?

This character? Hex Token D2?
I don't think you can access it, since I can't even access even converting hex to tokens. I would assume this is not accessible in any way, even if you take a peek of the GLYPHS program in the archives, would be cool to have though. You can view more hex tokens here if you would like, if it helps

Yes, that is what I was trying to get. I didn't understand the difference between characters and tokens, but now I think I get it. I was planning on using it in a few horizontal text sprites in a game I'm making, and I didn't want to use the minus sign because it is longer. For example, I wanted to make a wasp sprite like this:
"-:-(<hyphen>:"
Which would show:
0000000
0101010
1011100
0101010
0000000
Whereas
"-:-(<minus>:"
Would show:
00000000
01010100
10111000
01010100
00000000
Forcing an extra line of space after the sprite that I don't want to deal with. I think I'll just end up redoing my sprites to make them not need it.

The hyphen is the same as the negative sign on the calculator. I just checked my calculator and the negative sign is indeed 3 pixels wide, like in Bio Hazard's image. The negative sign is not the same as the subtraction sign. When you type the hyphen in TI-Connect it will give the subtraction sign, you have to select it from command index instead. I could have totally misinterpreted your question though but I don't know how though.
