I am looking for a way to write a TI-Basic program on a PC using my favorite text editor, and then download it to my calculator. I have TI Connect and a TI-86. Any existing program that I upload to the PC has an ".86p" extension that no existing programs seem to support. It is hard to imagine that all of the world's TI-Basic programs were written using a screen that's only 21 characters wide.
I installed an emulator on my PC, but its window is also just 21 characters wide, just like the actual calculator. Also, it won't let me type parentheses or "+" using the keyboard.
What is the best environment to write Ti-Basic? Is there an import/export tool for format conversion that I have not found yet?
