wow! thats cool! i wish i would have noticed it earlier. maybe we should make it more obvious, cause it really helpful!
Since this method is not functional, I think I'll recreate this into a new sidebar. Perhaps it would be in the form of a Chrome Extension or something like that. Thoughts?
I'm having a hard time visualizing this sidebar, so not sure. Could be useful, but since a link to the Command Index is already on the sidebar, I don't know that this is terribly useful.
The sidebar would be used places other than this site though…that's the whole purpose of the offline sidebar.
In addition, I think it would be a good idea to create an offline command index. More thoughts?
I think it might be nice to have something like a pdf compilation of the command index pages that can then be printed out if the user wishes. I can't imagine that it would be too difficult to make, either. I'm not sure how you would incorporate the offline sidebar with an offline pdf file, but that would add the same kind of functionality and ease of use to the offline sidebar that there is on the online command index. I can support this idea.
An interactive PDF wouldn't be too hard, but the thing is that Adobe InDesigner costs money (and is the only tool I've seen that can create interactive PDF's). I was thinking more along the lines of a collection of HTML pages that would be linked together (like the Assembly in 28 Days guide).
I'm also wondering if the Command Guide can just be made in a DOC(X) format and then be converted to PDF. It might work, but I'm not entirely sure.
