As your guest, I have added Metroid Pi to the list =D It got a bit sticky, but I fixed the include in the end to suite our needs. Are we going to do this with every showcase as well?

And also, is the second include really necessary anymore? Could we just have the content on the archives:donut-quest page on the actual archives:83 page? I mean, Donut Quest already has its own page in the wiki's mainframe.

I wasn't planning on including the showcase programs in the archives, I just used donut quest for testing purposes. The reason I gave the donut quest program its own page is because I thought it was more manageable. Also, I noticed the rating and comments modules still don't work even with a second program, so we might have to come up with an alternative.

You almost need an external website for this.

The TI-Basic PROGRAM repository.

If it becomes too hard, or we just need more space, I can set up a sub-site on my website (believe me, I have the space - my account at 110mb comes with 5GB of space!)
The reason why I would not set up a seperate website there is because it might violate the Terms Of Service, having just a program upload center.

Of course, I won't do this unless everyone agrees to it.

I know what you mean, but I would prefer to keep TI|BD where it is rather than have a seperate database. But that's just my opinion.

I knew that Zaphod was something to do with it. I mean, there is no way that there is another Zaphod Beeblebrox in this universe!

Have you read the entire series? I love it! He's so clever! Although, I never did figure out what was wrong with Fenchurch. Arthur thought that she had the ability to fly because her feet weren't touching the ground, but that wasn't it. I wonder what it was?

Arthur taught Fenchurch how to fly.

HOW TO FLY:
1. Throw self at ground
2. At the very last moment, somehow get your mind completely off the fact your falling.
3. Voila! As long as you do not think about falling, you will fly.

I wonder how a Vogon figured out you had to cause a multi-dimensional boom to finish his destroy Earth task? Well, at least the WSOGMM (Whole Sort Of General Mish-Mash) doesn't have the Earth in it at all anymore.

I like the way that it is described in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy;

HOW TO FLY: To fly, you need to throw yourself at the ground — and miss.

Actually, Earth does exist in the WSOGMM, just in parallel universes (which is how Arthur met Fenchurch in the first place). Fenny! I love that name!

I also love the concept that the political system of which runs the universe, is so complicated that you need the intelligence of at least "advanced God" to have a sort of understanding of how it actually works.

The problem with making the program archive an external website is that it won't get as much exposure. TI-Basic Developer ranks quite well in the search engines for everything TI-Basic and has a fairly decent size audience and community already established, so why not take advantage of both of those things? As far as space is concerned, we have 254MB left to use, so it's not really an issue. I hope that clears things up.

Here is one possible solution for rating programs: use the RatedPages module and restrict it to the archives category and only have it display the pages that have a rating of 1 or higher (each page starts out with a rating of 0 by default, so we can use this to prevent the non-program pages from showing up). The only problem I can see with this is that it doesn't allow you to differentiate between 83, 83p, and 84p program categories.

The RatedPages module seems to be the most difficult part of this task. Wouldn't it be easier to embed a script into every description? Or is RatedPages really the best way?

I just found out the only way we could possibly make the rating and comments work is if they each go to a separate page. Joy.

Okay, I jumped at the chance to self-advertise — sorry!

I've tweaked with the upload system as far as I could do at the time (notice how I don't imply permanence? That means I'm being optimistic by allowing the possibility that I might be able to improve it in the future. Please ignore these self-ramblings).

I tested the system by uploading one of my own programs, namely Bunny Gotchi.

What do you guys think of the uploading system?

How do you get the files onto the webpage? I saw the Bunny Gotchi had it off of local—files and I want to know how to get it there. Thanks!

You simply upload the file to the page, and then use the link [[file filename]].

How do I do the first part? Note: I'm not so good with uploading files ;) because this is one of the first forums I have been on. I will probably be able to figure out how to link it (hyperlink).

Click on files at the bottom of the page, and then click on upload new file. Once the file is uploaded, then just use the file link.

The form didn't work the way it was supposed to with you. You see, you were supposed to leave the "picture" and "download" sections blank, but instead you typed in "none" and "I don't know how". If you left those sections blank, you would have got two links asking you to upload files.

I'm glad you did this, because I just went ahead and completely removed the "picture" and "download" sections from the template, to stop the confusion we caused you in the future for others.

Go to your page now, and you will have two links asking you to upload your files.

@ burr, we can't type in "[[file filename]]" for technical reasons. See the guide to editing page for details on how to use this include.

The instructions in the upload form said that you then had to be patient, and that a moderator or administrator needed to do that (which I've done) =D

4^th of July is Independence Day for the US, the day in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Uncle Sam is associated with the 4^th of July. Almost no-one knows where he came from.

Who knows, if the nSpire evolves to have a form of 68k basic (which I think will happen), we will get a big boom.

Still, it would be a good idea. After all, how many people browse this site but haven't signed up for Wikidot, much less the site? We might have a whole lot of 68k users that just don't want to sign up and participate.

What about me, I've collected all the rom images that I could get. So I technically have a TI-89.
The ones that I have physically are my TI-84+ SE and my TI-82.

P.S. anyone by any chance program in assembly

edit: If anyone has an image they need just tell me if it's legal.

I got them from friends who had them.

They own the calc so it's not illegal.
