I recently got a used CE calculator, which only had one archived program, which cleared the RAM when I ran it. I want to unlock it and see what caused it. However, I can't connect it to my computer to have TI connect unlock it for me. Does anyone know what hex code is used to unlock programs on the CE? I checked TI basic dev and others but I could not find it.

PS: I am learning assembly language, so if you don't know the hexcode, could you recommend z80 guides that explain hexcodes? I have tried "learn assembly in 28 days" and this one already.

Download the Cesium shell. From there you can easily unlock/lock programs among several other functions.

Many hex codes for the CE, including that used for Locking/Unlocking programs, are not yet "discovered"; the upgrade in processor from grayscale to color changed a lot of memory registries and what not (forgive my lack of jargon, I'm not very versed in Assembly), so we do not yet have most of the hex codes designed to manipulate RAM and Archive on the CSE and CE.

A fix may be known though; your best bet is probably to check on Cemetech, as they generally have more technically-oriented users.

Another thing to note is that the CE runs on ez80, not z80 like the CSE and grayscale model calculators.

Important note: Avoid editing an assembly program using this code. It will likely get messed up and it could cause it to be volatile.

That code is not guaranteed to work on the CE. You simply copied the hex code for Edit-Locking programs from the grayscale hex code page, which does not directly translate over. Plus, CE's use AsmPrgmCE, not just the regular AsmPrgm.

Using that hex code on a CE will probably cause a RAM reset, though I don't plan on testing it myself.

I suggest (as it was suggested to me) to learn C first. It's not only as fast as Assembly (to my remembering), but it helps you learn the general syntax of other high level languages. If you're interested, you can download the CE Toolchain.
