alright, here we go!
so i messed up again and now there is a useless file uploaded, could somebody delete that?
and here is the correct one and my submission.
http://tibasicdev.wikidot.com/local--files/forum:thread/matrix.zip
I'll play.
Animation = easy <:)
Game = hard >:(
I'm guessing this is where we sign up.
o.k. I'll do it.
edit: Can we use 1 asm program to help us make it faster?
I would say yes, as long as the asm program isn't used to add any additional functionality.
please describe what is "not allowed" in more detail"
I guess just whatever is not normally available in TI-Basic.
So its already July 20th, and i have not done a competition on here before, but shouldn't we be signed up yet?
Socks is the guy coordinating the program challenges, and I think he's on summer vacation right now, so I don't know…
Sorry, I've been busy with a move.
It really doesn't matter when anyone signs up so long as they submit a program before the deadline.
But since I no longer own an 83 or 84, I really shouldn't moderate this. Somebody with one of the calculators should.
I would say they were broken.
I'm psychic!!! (Not really)
I only ever had an 83+, but it fell and broke… in a way no calculator ever should.
Ooh, there are smilies now?
EDIT: Oh, I see. Oh well, just a little harder to use.
I am just going to make mine and hope it wins!!
unfortunately, it is july 30 and I don't have it done. I am not even near having it done.
So I will have to admit defeat. Oh well, It isn't that bad is it,… is it?!?
well, since we still don't have a person that is moderating the contest, we could postpon the finish date. cause I really don't like the idea of winning by default. Its no fun :(
I've just added the rule on the challenges page that you can not win by default ;)
It's good to see you again James. I take it you are on summer vacation?
Oh, I didn't see this message.
Haha, no, my Summer Vacation starts from December until the end of January.
I actually went on a pilgrimage to Sydney Australia, for World Youth Day. It was a phenomenal and amazing experience for me, and something about it changed my spiritual self in a way that words could not explain. That pilgrimage will stay with me forever… but you (or anybody else) could PM me if you want me to ramble more on it.
But I'm sorry about sudden disappearance everyone (and for this late apology)!
Cheers ~ James Kanjo
If it is just me and builderboy that were doing the contest, then we could postpone it till August 9, 2008.
Also, we need a new moderator of the challenge since socks, cool username by the way, can't do it because his Ti-83 broke.
Sounds good to me. By the way, what is the name of the game you are making the intro to? Just curious.

What, We have to make a game to go with it, how was I supposed to know that, no one ever told me…
I'm just kidding, I'm using it for a game where you are in a virtual world called SCENARIO.
Also, I have a slight problem with mine. I was editing it on my computer to save memory. Then I tried sending it to my calc. It is an asm program that I typed in hex on my computer. I tried to send it to my calc to do the asmcomp( function on it. The file was too big. So, I was wondering, if I have every screen saved as the ".db" hex codes, in an asm program and you run it with the asm( token, I think that would be fine.
And we really need a new moderator of the challenge!!!

Maybe in an assembly programming contest?
So, graphmastur, hows that intro doing?
why did you post a link to the link you posted?
I would assume so that you could download it and see for yourself the latest version.
when I click on the link, nothing happens
the link is referring to his post. (forum # 67540, topic program challenges, post#232195)
Contained in the post he's linking you to is his response to the question you just asked.
ah, i see. It was linking to a different post. It didn't highlight the post, so i thoguht it was just linking to the same post. Never mind.
So… this challenge is postponed indefinetaly?
- I think that 30 seconds was a little too long
- I keep seeing my good friend the "err:memory" error.
- We have no one to judge
If you have thought of all of that then tell me what to do by number please.
actually James Kanjo has agreed to moderate it.
great, now please answer 1 and 2
30 seconds is good, by me, but i don't think if you go bellow you should get disqualified.
You are running out of memory (Duh, how helpful i am) and probably need to optimize some things or make it less complex. And just a pointer, if you are making your intro so big that you get an memory error, that wouldn't leave much room for a game.
Unless its a strange assembly type memory error that means something different.
aww, don't be that way.
You don't need to do something super assembly, just something simple, small and basic. Don't try to completely outdo yourself.
graphmastur, I removed the change you made which announced builderboy as being the winner for this reason:
"Should Judgement Day arrive with only one entrant in the challenge, s/he will not win by default. Instead, Judgement Day will be postponed; Judgement Day is inevitible"
Judgement Day is simply postponed until a later date. No person will win by default.
I am finished with my animation.
it is pending right now.
Graphmaster, you rock my socks. whats it called?
I'm making one! I'm about halfway done. It should be either funny, or stupid.
well, after much thought, I decided to call it "animation"
it's pending
here it is
you know you should probably just upload it to this page specificaly
wow, that looks awesome. Although i think you could have used algorithms to lower the file size instead of coding in every single pxl change. It would become smaller and perhaps faster looking at the way your doing it now. The file size is larger than any game I have ever made.
Woo! I got a new 84+ I can moderate again!… If you want me too. I'm so happy…
Also, we need a new moderator of the challenge since socks, cool username by the way, can't do it because his Ti-83 broke.
Thanks.
You know what? There doesn't need to be one soul moderating challenges. I reckon a second opinion would be very good!
Although, moderating means you can't participate in the challenges… you have a decision to make!
Cheers ~ James Kanjo
On the challenges page, I included a review for this challenge. Just because I think that when people put in the effort they did, they should get feedback for it.
MY APOLOGIES to architeuthiskid, I somehow missed your comment and judged the programs before you submitted one! Although my decision is final, I would still appreciate it if you submitted your animation, seeing as you put the effort in and got over half of it done. Again, I'm sorry, and it won't happen in the future.
