I know it sounds like a dumb question, but where can i download Ti-Basic. I've downloaded three of the same files off the Internet, but when i go to run it after extracting the files, it doesn't work.
TI BASIC is built into the calculator

Ohh okay, thank you for the clarification. I've been thinking that you can write the code off of a TI BASIC program, then transfer it to your calculator through the Graph Cable.
you can write the code on a computer or on a calculator (depends on your preference). however, you will need the TI graph link to write the code or you can download a 3rd party software.

Well, you don't need to download extra software if you have internet access. Source Coder 2 allows you to load or create .8xp files and so does ClrHome's IES. You can download Tokens IDE, but it requires a .NET framework, and I have no clue what that means :P

You said I could write it on the computer, where could I access that. I go across this site and see commands that my calculator does not have, such as "Try" and "EndIf".
ummm, i dont know about that, you might wanna ask xeda about that

Oh, those commands are for the 68k calculators such as the TI-89 and TI-92. The BASIC language on those calculators is different and more advanced. That code will not work on the z80 calculators such as the TI-73/82/83/83+/84+
