Question regarding InputStr

We're glad you came by, but you might find what you're looking for elsewhere. TI-Basic Developer is not the site it once was. While its information on commands and other calculator features remains almost second-to-none, its forum, archives, and even hosting service, Wikidot, have been decaying for years. The calculator community would love to see what you're working on, or help you in your next coding adventure, but TI-Basic Developer is no longer the place to do it. Instead, you should head over to Cemetech (primarily American) or TI-Planet (primarily international). Both are active, well-established forums with their own archives, chatrooms, reference material, and abundant coding tools and resources. We'll see you there, we hope.

Question regarding InputStr

I am pretty new to 68k coding (really good at ti-basic) and was wondering why if you specify a prompt (e.g. InputStr ">",data) it prints the > and then asks for the text on the next line down. I was going for the effect that ti-basic would have where it makes a > then asks for the text on the same line. Is there any way to do this?

I am not sure of a good way to get around this, but I personally find the Dialog command very useful and the related command, Request.

Yea I cant use that because it has to be on the screen itself. I think I will just make custom key input and display it to the screen accordingly.
