I heard that you can now play music on your calculators with the right set of headphones. Would it be possible to add sounds into a game? Possibly simply the Mario theme song before the start up of Mario? Or maybe switching back and forth repeatedly between the sound app and the game app to get a rather glitchy song to play while you enjoy your game? I don't know the full extent of the sound program, since I still haven't gotten around around to finding a good set of headphones, but I was impressed by the fact that the calculator could make any sound at all. I would love to see where this goes.
i doubt that you are gonna be able to use it in a game, since whenever i plug in the earphones, the calculator freezes, as if its expecting something to go through the line
The Silver Phantom welcomes you
You can't. There is no sound card inside your calculator, therefore it can't play any sound at all, not even with headphones.
Actually, you can. It's difficult and involves finding the right frequencies; the job is much easier on a computer, where the sound card does all the work, but it can be done on a calculator.
If you find a 1.5mm headphone jack (I have one from a really old Nokia phone), and plug it into the calculator I/O port, try this:
:While 1 :Send(A) :End
You can press [ON] to break. I don't know much about how it works, but you may hear some popping noise. Unfortunately, with BASIC, that's about the limit. If you want to get into better quality sound, you can try ASM things like RealSound.
