I'm a fairly beginner programmer, and I frequently copy down codes from this wiki to digest them. However, one such program is the one called "Fly the Copter", found here: (http://tibasicdev.wikidot.com/fly-the-copter). I copied this down exactly.
The gameplay, in a nutshell to let you guys know, is to navigate a pixel through a scrolling tunnel and go for distance. There are gravity effects and such, with a random tunnel and obstacles. Fairly addicting, right?
Well, I copied this before a long time ago, and it worked fine. But for some odd reason, once my distance reached exactly 235 units, it would stop and end. I don't know if this was intended, but as far as I can see, I don't see the number 235 in the source code.
Another strange thing is that my pixel character would only start moving if I mashed either the 2nd button (used to increase elevation) or the arrow keys up and down. Other times it would work fine, and other times it would fail no matter what I did.
So when I copied it recently, it would just show my pixel just blinking for maybe two seconds, and then it would end with my distance being 1. Nothing I did would change it. I don't understand at all, would anyone be kind enough to alter the code or just get rid of it?
The man shuddered as the shadow drew a glistening sword from his back. Creeping closer and closer with his pale eyes burning into the man, the shadow slowly raised his blade and before he could thrust it down, the man heard the shadow hiss something.
"The Shadow Clan's presence must be like a whisper. Always felt, but never seen…"
