Shade( ? Nobody really uses it because there are a lot of faster, custom shading routines (like for shading a circle) it's very specific because it's obvious what the command does.
Or maybe Tangent(?
xor? solve?
Maybe the "IS>(" or "DS>(" commands?
Those are hardly simple, IMO
I swear, if the answer is something that I've used in spades…

Is that what I call myself, or am I just hungry?
Yep, that's the clue. ^^

Nope, but good guess :D

CalcKid got it right: I do not know who uses those, but if you know how to use it, it is very simple and yet utterly useless. Ok, now, CalcKid, you go.

I am rarely used in programming
I am an unnecessary command
Another command accomplishes what I am capable of doing and more.
Who am I?

It would have to be ClrList. Output() cannot do everything Disp does (scrolling!); >Dec has no other command besides no command; the replacement for String>Equ() is a →, not a command; PrintScreen is entirely useless; that leaves ClrList, which does a DelVar on only lists.
I actually found a use for ClrList in my mastermind game :D
I would say the token cubed but that's not really a command

Hmm… let me rephrase the question. I have never seen this command in a program. It also does not require an input. The key is that is has a "brother command" that accomplishes what I am capable of doing and more.
Also, Mr. Dino what did you mean by PrintScreen?

They have different roles, and motive for their coexistence is well-grounded. Stop jettisons the call stack before halting the interpreter, while Return sends the interpreter back to the program from which the subroutine carrying the command was called, making it the only one of the two that can reinstate control to any sort of shell or hub meant for branching written in TI-BASIC.
Timothy Foster, that was a good guess… but that isn't the one. Let me be clear: I have never seen this command in any program, beginner or expert. I suppose you could put it into a program, but why would anyone want to? It is easier to use it outside of a program. I'm beginning to think that my choice was too hard, so I'll spill the beans tomorrow if no gets it.

*scrolling through commands* the % symbol? Or LinReg(ax+b) or LinReg(a+bx)? Trace? *scrolling through command list*
It might be the % symbol, because sub() does the same thing.
This is not completely accurate, but maybe he is reffering to the pixel commands, which are almost useless.

Hmm… I guess it was too difficult. Maybe I didn't follow the rules properly when choosing a command. Anyway, the answer is "Depend Ask" whose brother command is "Depend Auto". Since nobody got the correct answer the person who got the closest was Timothy Foster with his guess of ▶Dec and Stop/Return, so you can go next.

Is it Output( or Text( ? As in using these tokens to place a space in the upper right corner of the screen to get rid of the run indicator?
Z80 Assembly>English>TI-BASIC>Python>French>C>0
That's really good thinking, but it's not it.
Note that I accidentally misspelled "world". I changed it just now, but I hope that wasn't messing anyone up :P

This is a calculator command? :8

I have one for you!
I was once used frequently for running programs. Now, downloadable software frequently does the work I used to do. The kinds of programs I open can crash VERY hard, yet the language is used often. But beware: you could get an ERR:INVALID if you use me wrong. What command am I?

Yes, the answer is Asm( ! What gave it away?

I was once used frequently for running programs.
This didn't give too much away.
Now, downloadable software frequently does the work I used to do.
This didn't give much away until I read the next clue which made me think of DCS7, zStart, Grammer, NoShell, and other apps that have some hook to let you run asm programs without the token.
The kinds of programs I open can crash VERY hard, yet the language is used often.
This basically gave it away that it was assembly
But beware: you could get an ERR:INVALID if you use me wrong. What command am I?
Asm( has an error if you use it on a regular program :D

I am one of the few two-byte commands on a TI-84+/SE. Watches will be useless if everyone uses me in their programs. What command am I?

Um, watches. Watches use time, and get time uses time and is two-bit. You know, the rule is that you only post a new riddle if no one solves the last one and no answer is given, you win the last one, or if no one posts a new riddle for a long while. :)

It's fine; you're new, so you didn't see it where we said that. This is the rule for Brainteasers as well.
Don't worry about it. :) Hey, since Timothy Foster's challenge does not make that much since at all and no one has posted for a while, does someone else want to go, or should we wait?

Since nobody has posted here in almost a year I'll try to get this alive again.
