We're doing Demonstration Speeches in school. Essentially, you show the class how to do something. Now, everyone in my class is doing something simple like 'How to tie your shoe' and 'How to make _ food', but I decided to do 'How to program'.
I was thinking about showing them "HELLO WORLD", then show a 30 second clip of me making a Celcius→Farenheit program in C++, compiling it, and running it. Then I would explain input, variables, operations, syntax, errors, and output. Then I would work through making some pretty cool TI BASIC program that would impress the class (probably a game) - and use all the basic functions of programming. I have yet to come up with one. So I need one.
Let me go through all the requirements:
Whole thing must be 3-5 minutes long.
The program should demonstrate Input, variables, operations, syntax, optimizations*, syntax, errors, loops, and output.
*Maybe not, as they're beginners
The whole thing is due Thursday, February 16th, so I'd appreciate help by Monday.
This is for a Speech class, and the teacher really wants me to focus on Speech things. Here's the rubric:
Effective introduction: 15 points
Demonstrate topic effectively: 30 points
Dynamic Conclusion: 15 points
Good eye contact: 10 points
Delivery (volume, fluency): 15 points
Visual Aid (I can give everyone something to work with, or work on a 3d thing or a Slide show (probably).)
So, any ideas?
