Also I might end up trying to make a program that you challenge to someone else and that is okay. Just because the challenge wasn’t centered towards you doesn’t mean you can’t do it for fun.
Here's a challenge: create a simple platformer game in TI-Basic.
It doesn't have to be anything too complicated, this is just to test your programming skills. It can just be 1 level if you'd like. You can do it on the home screen or the graph screen. It's up to you whether you want to add certain elements like a key to unlock a door or just have a platform or two in the game.
I'm interested to see what you guys come up with, and what kind of gravity/simple physics engines you create. Again, it doesn't have to be anything too complicated, just a simple test of skills.
could totally post an old batch of programs here, but I'm not near a computer right now XD. I'll see if I can put it up tomorrow. should really make it one file…
I believe the idea was to create your own new or ~relatively~ new program.
It can be anything really. As long as it doesn’t copy someone else’s version of it. Because plagiarism is a crime. And because it was their version not yours (person who puts out the challenge.
I just want to claify that it can be a modified version of someone elses program so long as you give attribution and do not use it for commercial purposes under the creative commons license agreement
Yes, exactly what Trenly said.
I have my own program XD sorry if it sounded like I was taking something off of the website. I do have this here, but it's not very simple.
Does my Remake of Flappy Bird count as a simple game? Ik its not exactly a platformer, but it kinda has a physics engine.
Yeah, as long as you didn’t copy the whole thing from someone else.
If you are a school student this challenge is for you (or anyone who wants to do it for fun).
Create a program that will help you with something you have trouble with everyday at school (forgetting what homework to do, class schedule, etc.)
I can’t wait to see what kind of programs you guys come up with
Remember: post the program here and somewhere else.
