Installing OS problem

I just got a brand new TI-84 Plus CE from TI, and the first time I turned it on, it showed the "Waiting… Please install Operating System now." screen. So, I downloaded the latest version; 5.3, I have tried several times installing it. One thing at exactly 50% through the installation process, it says: "ERROR! Press any key to turn unit off. Then turn unit back on." I have done some research, and from the site ClrHome Productions, I reset it at 24%, then it showed the "Waiting…" screen. I pressed [MODE] and tried to re-install it. No luck.

Do any of you have any suggestions on what I should do to get around this?

I am using TI-Connect CE to do this.

When I got my CE a little over a year ago, all I had to do was let it fully charge, turn it on, and then it was good to go. It shouldn't say "Please install Operating System now," as it should already have an OS installed on it.

Also, didn't you say at one point that your parents wouldn't let you buy a TI-84+CE with your own money? What happened there?

1. I'm not in the mood for any pranks. A newly bought calculator will not ask you to do this, therefore, I take this as a spam post. Take this as a warning not to make spam posts like this, as it seems to me that you are posting in order to farm karma (which explains why your karma increases quickly). You've posted many times on this issue, yet the problem is never resolved, meaning you aren't able to troubleshoot properly (in which you should take it somewhere to get checked out, or contact TI-Cares).
2. Since the calculator seems to never be the problem, as its situation never changes, either get a refund and buy a new calculator from an actual store/reliable source online, or buy a new computer.
3. Quit with the Hexcodes. A lot haven't been found/created for the CE, and monochrome calculator hexcodes are not compatible with new color calcs. If you want the speed the Assembly has to offer, go learn some C, ez80 ASM, or ICE.

I understand that this is a forum to ask questions, but the continuation of errors that you have encountered with your calculators makes this questionable. For the time being, this thread will be locked (unless another staff member sees fit to it).
