For those who don’t know, I’ve been working on a series of games under the common title of “Adventures of Jetman!”
The games are’t unique in the fact that you have to run around the screen to collect “coins” while under a time crunch, but they are different because of their movement systems.
In the first one, pressing the number/arrow key (you can change the controls) doesn’t simply move you one space, oh no. It adds to your acceleration in that direction, which is intuitive enough to understand, but different enough to be difficult. The acceleration gradually decreases, and in the “y” direction, can be come negative, implying gravity.
In the second one, (which is technically done, but I haven’t gotten around to releasing it) the acceleration-based movement is the same, but you are pulled to the center instead of the floor. This one is much, much harder.
I still haven’t come up with ideas for the third/last one…
(I cannot post links, so I’ll provide manual DL instructions)
To try the first AoJ, head to Cemetech, navigate to the Archives, then go to the CE/games folder, and “Adventures of Jetman” should be towards the top.
I might upload it here when I have time, but I am currently tracking my Cemetech downloads in a spreadsheet, and I don’t want to skew the data.
Feedback/optimizations of the program are welcome and needed. Thanks!
