So I'm making a basic "fly the helicopter through the tunnel" game, and the only thing I can't figure out is how to make the screen scroll with the ship (or alternatively make the map scroll by, or give the illusion of scrolling by)
Are you trying to make a smooth scrolling tunnel game? Unfortunately, that isn't really viable in pure TI-Basic. What you could do instead is redraw the screen every time the ship gets to the edge.
You can use text which is relatively fast
What do you mean rhombus?
And Burr, it doesnt have to be completely smooth or pixel by pixel, but thats a good idea.
Have you seen this program? This implements what burr is implying.
I ment something like this where the 0's are walls and the ) is the ship (ignore the blinking cursor). You can use the graph screen text( command if you need to fit more things on the screen and for better control
The only way in bacic I know is
:Pause "TEXT YOU WANT TO SHOW"
with the left-/right-key you can scroll through it.
But that's only working with one single line. :(
Thanks for the help everyone, I'm just going to go with what Burr said in the beginning. Thanks for all the replies!
