Summary:

For a game I am building, I need the ability to output a random math problem, wait fr the answer, while timing the person. Help, please!

I'm building Brain Age for the 83+, and I need code that will create "simple" math problem, simple meaning that it would use only multiplication, addition, and subtraction (not division), and numbers not greater than 12 or 13. Such as, outputting the problem "3+5=" and waiting for the user to answer it and press enter. It would also need to be timed, but I can do that with either a For() loop or While, etc.

That solves the input, but what about the equation? I could use randInt() for the numbers, but hopw would I do signs, and have the calculator know which one?

Well, randInt() can do signed numbers, too (e.g. randInt(-9,9)). For the operations, you could represent the operation with a number 1 through 4. Then randInt(1,4) will give you a random operation. You could get the result using If statements.

You have to remember that DarkerLine has a lot more programming experience. Once you have a few large games under your belt, you'll be able to program anything you need.

So, have you made any progress with the game?

A little - actually, quite a bit, but thanks to a cat I lost all the work. Luckily I back up often, but I still lost a bit. Should start coming together, tough.
