Splitting threads

Is there a way to split a forum thread into several threads to move them to different forums? The discussion of movement in maps has become a bit convoluted, and I'd like to have a distinction between discussing the page, and asking questions about its subject matter. Such threads would belong in the programming help section.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that is possible. What I would do is just repost the posts yourself and preface each post with a note at the beginning about reposting it.
