So I got to thinking about all the times we've banned Thel Vadamee/etc., and all the jokes, accusations, and sarcasm that we've been throwing around in relation to the matter. I'm not sure that the way we (including myself, particularly today) have handled re-banning Thel Vadamee/etc. reflects well on the site, as a newbie might get the impression that we are a little on the demeaning side. To be clear, I am not saying we should un-ban TI-Basic Dude, or that we shouldn't ban any of his future accounts. We absolutely should stick to the decision to ban him. I just think we could do it (the right words escape me at the moment) more discreetly. I don't want one of us to accuse a new member of being Thel Vadamee, and then it turns out that he/she isn't. So, I would just say, let's be a little more cautious before we determine that a new account belongs to Thel Vadamee/etc.

We're glad you came by, but you might find what you're looking for elsewhere. TI-Basic Developer is not the site it once was. While its information on commands and other calculator features remains almost second-to-none, its forum, archives, and even hosting service, Wikidot, have been decaying for years. The calculator community would love to see what you're working on, or help you in your next coding adventure, but TI-Basic Developer is no longer the place to do it. Instead, you should head over to Cemetech (primarily American) or TI-Planet (primarily international). Both are active, well-established forums with their own archives, chatrooms, reference material, and abundant coding tools and resources. We'll see you there, we hope. |
