We haven't had a whole of contributors or people posting on the forum, and I believe a big part of that is that the homepage does not make it very obvious how to sign up or that we want people to contribute to the site. I think a portal-like homepage would be more practical, something along the lines of the homepage at the star wars wiki or the star trek wiki. What do you guys think about redesigning the homepage? Any ideas for things to change or include?
There should probably be a section on contributing to the wiki, rather than just throwing out a link.
I also like the "did you know?" section of the Star Wars wiki, we should definitely try to include that (it might attract people who think they know all about TI-Basic if we put up some of the more astonishing bits of trivia up on the home page).
Well, I'll start working on putting together a homepage. I think the current information we have on the homepage is still useful (the site goals, site content, and contact us), so we should try to use it somehow. Do you have any ideas?
I started the new homepage. I made sure to add a "did you know…" section for you DarkerLine, and I also added a developer of the month section because I think that is kind of fun a thing for people (or, at least I think it's fun :D). What do you guys think? I personally don't think it looks polished yet, and it could use some work. What exactly, I'm not really sure. It just seems to be missing something.
