As another way to organize the site content, I think we should start using the page tags. The page tags function can be found at the bottom of a page (just press "tags"), and the basic idea is to choose 3-5 words that sum up what the page content is (for example, the page tags I chose for the homepage are: home, start, and welcome). A side benefit of this is that the wiki SEO would also improve. What do you guys think of the idea?
I was actually just about to comment on the fact that we don't have tags, when I saw it in the page options at the bottom. Although I still don't quite understand the point of tags.
The main purpose of page tags is for organizing content into different groups (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_%28metadata%29). Lots of sites have content that doesn't fit into the standard hierarchical view, so tags fill in that gap. If we are going to add page tags, we need to come up with some standard tags that should be used.
I decided to go ahead and start adding tags to the pages. It only takes 5-10 seconds to come up with a few tags to describe a page, so why not do it? The only pages I didn't get around to adding tags to were the command pages.
