It's pretty obvious. This site is close to dead. I am afriad not much can be done about it altough some more responding to questions ask here would help…(I know, I have myself to blame as well). Either way for those who have questions (whether already asked here or not) I advise you to go to www.omnimaga.org or www.cemetech.net
the forums there are way, way more active and you'll have a high chance of getting a reply quickly…

Sorry for 'promoting' other sites but I do not want others to abandon a easy to learn and easy to use programming language that will be able to help learning other languages just because there aren't much replies to topics. It may so sound dramatic but i do this for the sake of the entire TI-calc community.

Sorry burr but I think this is needed, others might come back later onto these forums…

Another semi-active website is on devhardware.com with it's own TI 83/84 section, which I myself mostly use and answer. Although how active it is is only arguable active, ranging from 3 new/updated thread a day to the current approx. 1 new/updated thread per week, I try to check it every day and can answer most questions one may have.

Although the forums seem to be dying here, the content is still very good, and I often refer people here if they want more information on a command, or a method on how to do something, and ever since I found the "discussions board" button, have been trying to help out where I could. The only problem I've had is that for the past week and a half I've been without internet on my own computer, so my access is limited at best. Again, I'll try to help out where I can and hope to see this site remain active.

I agree - this forum is like a ghost town - it's so empty.
The two forums you mentioned are really active, but like you said, this website is the best one for the beginner.
I would be really sad if this website were to disappear.

Jesus, my eyes just got laseredbeam by omninaga.com. I sure hope they are better on programming than doing web design. I haven't read through the other posts, but what I like about this website is that it's so convenient and user friendly, you got all in one spot- all the commands explained with tips and thorough guides on certain areas, which atleast gave me a really good base for getting started with programming. Nevertheless, it's also eye-friendly,not trying to combine pale pink with blue making the user dazzled.

Yatzy, you should really shut up. The design on omnimaga.org is perfectly fine, the only thing not fine here is your attitude.

Omni and tibasicdav are COMPLETELY different types of sites — this helps people get started in calc programming, and then omni takes over; it's the most productive community that makes calc games ever made — and more than just BASIC ones. How about you grow a pair and then think twice before insulting a community whose newbiest n00bs are probably 10x better than you at programming.

No offense to TI-Basic-dev as a whole though — they are an awesome group of programmers. Too bad they are cursed to have you, though. I wish them best of luck.

Yatzy's post was made all the way back in September, so posting a reply now in December is past the point of mattering any more. I think it is rather absurd that you created an account simply to leave a post in this thread.

I feel like a horrible person now, after remaining dormant for so long and coming back only to find the site's eulogy to be the most frequently posted thread.
This is a great forum. The people here are extraordinarily knowledgeable and helpful. The information on this site is top notch. The help one can receive on programs here is amazing. We can't simply sit about feeling sorry for the site, we have to do something. If it should remain deserted let it be a temple and not a ghost town.
We should start a campaign to produce interesting high quality programs. Let's make this into a forum for beginners to seek experts' help and to discover new frontiers in programming.
Maybe we won't be the most frequented forum, but we can still be the most useful.

The forum does seem to be slowing down, but that's ultimately up to you guys: if you want to have a thriving forum, then you need to cultivate that. I find it rather funny that you had the wherewithal to create a thread about the site dying, yet you don't have the time to create a thread about something that would help get people interested in contributing to the forum. Although the forum is important, the primary focus of the site has always been the content. There are lots of forums on the Internet, but there are very few sites that provide quality content. The content is not going anywhere, and you guys are always welcome to contribute new content.
