I am a new TI Voyage 200 user (got mine a few days ago).
I am trying to learn TI BASIC as fast as I can, since I want to encourage students to learn how to program their calculators as an incentive to learning Visual Basic .NET (which I am supposed to teach them). Since my students are not that much interested in programming and offer much resistance to it, I tought that I could get some motivation out of them, if they could see the benefits of programming i.e. their calculator.
However, there is one thing I have no idea, yet. How does one use arrays?
I believe that this is done with lists in TI Basic, but I have no clue on that and would appreciate some examples.
Imagine I have an array like this:
A 10 20 30
B 11 22 34
C 09 65 27
D 93 48 70
Now I want the use to type in the "name" (letter from A to D) and make a calculation like:
x_1 = the first number of the line "name"
x_2 = the second number of the line "name"
x_3 = the third number of the line "name"
In VB I would to something like this:
name = InputBox("Select name") for a=1 to 10 ' Imagine there are 10 items stored if table(a,1)=name then x_1=table(a,2) x_2=table(a,3) x_3=table(a,4) end if next a ...
