I want to keep a highscore - a single score not a table of them. I'd like a variable that's not on one of the keys but slightly more hidden. Are there any?
you could use a list. that way you could create a list with your own name and it would be virtually impossible for another program to "accidentally" overwrite it.
also, see the highscores page
There are a few Finance-variables that can be used to do this.
They're accessible via APPS>Finance…>Vars.
You can store a normal real into it, just like any other character variable.
Finance variables are prone to being wiped, and thus highscore data can easily be lost.
The best way to handle highscores is with lists. With a list, you can establish a custom name and store to that. For instance, let's say I have a highscore of 1000 for a balloon game. I want to store this highscore in a place that won't ever be used anywhere else, or has a very low possibility of such. We can use lists to define a custom name that will not be used anywhere else.
I encourage you to read the lists page and discover how to use them.
