All optimization is making your program shorter and faster. This will save memory for your calc. Optimization is really important for your calculator. If you have a REALLY big program that could really use optimization, it will save bytes and reduce the risk of our calculator crashing and giving you a "RAM cleared" screen. For example, you may also visit the optimization page in the TI-Basic Starter kit. But unless, if you don't want to fish out the data, you can post your Q's and ask people for help. Here is some examples of optimization:

This code can be optimized to:

You do not need to add the ending " and ) for your program. It will do the same thing, and save some bytes.
