Hey, So I want to become a moderator. (I dont know what it is) So bad! I've heard they are so popular!
Well, becoming a moderator takes a lot of work! The traits of a moderator are listed here. With a lot of hard work and determination, maybe you'll become a moderator :)
Omg! I want to be a mod too!
I know, I would love to be a mod; I'm always seeing thing to be improved that I can't improve because of not having permissions to. Maybe one day… :)
Maybe someday for me too. You never really know
The site would benefit from having more moderators.
It would, it seems like only jonbush and Xeda are active in the forums/page editing. All the other moderators are inactive (it seems).
It seems to me that most members vanish from the site around the time they graduate from college, as they no longer see any need to program on TI-Basic. TI-Basic was to help them in their Math and Science classes, and to prepare them for more advanced programming. Having completed those two objectives, they no longer care about the site. It served their purpose, now they are done.
Hm.
I hope that I'll still have time in college/after college for TI-Basic!
I plan to continue after college (I just finished my 1st year, 4 more to go!) since I am going into engineering. Programming will always be fun and useful to me, although I may upgrade to either the nspire or the 89 or perhaps both so I can learn the 68k and nspire programminng. I feel though that the 84+ will remain my tried and true calculator that I use most often
Yes, come to the 68k side…. :D
If you're going to get a Nspire, you should get it now ('cause I heard it makes college easier?), or learn C/Lua/Assembly (either one). BASIC on the Nspire is really poor, especially with the I/O; it's super hard to make games, it's more for math programs (but TI-BASIC is easier to learn and can do quite a lot in my opinion). But maybe you'll be the first one to get around it…you never know! :)
I plan to get an Nspire CX CAS at some point, since I pretty much exclusively program math. It will really help with college, especially if I take college calculus.
The college I go to doesnt allow any calculators (not even a scientific one) for any of its math classes. I use my 84+ for physics and chemistry, as well as prob-stat and it seems to work just fine
Yeeeeerp. If I had a job that actually required programming (or even math, which I went to school for) I might not have the time for this site. As it is, work has taken a lot of my time.
It also helps that I get email updates to my phone about every page edit and forum post so I can monitor the site in real-time— that is, when I even remember to have my phone with me. This does include the trollwork of thel Vadamee/TI-Basic Dude.

Their writing style is identical and it's a very unique and intentional style.

I think everyone already knew that, though.
@Trenly, gosh, it must be horrible to take math classes without even a scientific calculator. How are you going to get through calculus?
I have no idea what I would do if I didn't have my 83+ or 89T! It must be hard Trenly, but we're cheering you on!
Xeda, Is there a way for you Jonbush or Timothy to check the ip? And yes, the writing is identical and very unique.
Myles, Calculus doesnt actually require a calculator. Integrals and derivatives are all algebraic manipulation, and then to solve it is substitution. It does get a bit tricky to do anything with more than a power higher than a cubic; and the trig functions sometimes are tricky although the problems are usually formulated such that the answers to the trig functions can be obtained from the unit circle (which we were required to memorize in high school pre-calc). I have conpleted calculus 1 and 2 and will be completing calculus 3, calculus 4, and differential equations next year.
Battlesquid, thanks for the cheers! Cheers mate!
I cannot see a way to check IP.

Well, Trenly, I'm in a calculus class (almost done with it) and I can't imagine how I would've fared without my 84+ CE.
You seem to be juvenile youself since you have an obvious disregard for respect. I suggest you look at the rules and code of conduct before you post flaming or disrespectful posts.
As for my "feeble mind", Learning is a process. You cannot tell me you mastered all of calculus in a day. When you say that number theory and reduced row echleon form went "over my head", you are neglecting that you do not know what topics I have or have not studied. You do not know my potential, so you cannot legitamitely tell me that I "[was] never made for such higher level thought". A forums collective intelectual level is not represented by any single person; this is obvious when you notive the word collective. For soneone who calls themself an intellectual, you seem to overlook many things.
I though Cool Master had been banned months ago.
According to Timothy Foster he has been banned
Erm, on an unrelated note, congratulations on becoming a moderator Trenly! All that hard work has payed off :D
:O How did you know? JK, ik its in the announcements
Also, Congrats Xeda and Jonbush
You're moving up in the Wikidot World! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
