You can use:
- Wait time_in_seconds to pause execution for up through 100 seconds.
- Request prompt_text to pop up a dialog box with an input field, which will pause execution until the user presses Enter.
- Text prompt_text to pop up a dialog box, with behavior as above but with no input field.
Nspire BASIC programs can't use a dedicated program window for input and output like earlier TI BASIC programs can. Output can be printed to the Calc window of the current document with Disp, but the program will keep executing. The only way to pause execution, pending user input, is to pop up a dialog box.
The Nspire calculators can be programmed in Lua (a different programming language) to draw text and graphics in a fashion somewhat more like the 8x calculators, as well as waiting for and capturing keypresses. Editing Nspire Lua code on PC/Mac is possible with the official Nspire software. The code is more complicated, though, and it can't be edited on the calculator itself without Jens' Script Editor, a user-created program that's floating around out there.
