i have spent about 2 weeks on this because i wanted large charters on the graphics screen. a lot of know about the undocumented text command such as TEXT(-1,0,0,"HI THERE") which will put HI THERE in the upper left hand corner of the graph screen. the symbol before the 1 is the negative symbol. in the catalog in ti-connect the symbols all come at the end of the list with the minus symbol coming after the inverted V and the negative symbol coming after the +. if you put the symbols side by side in the text editor the minus symbol will be lower and longer that the negative symbol. I kept getting a syntax error message error in the calculator with the cursor sitting on the minus symbol when i used the negative symbol in the editor. Some old hands at TI knew that to get the negative symbol in the calculator you needed to use the minus symbol in the editor and vice versa. to those of you who know this i appologise for wasting your time but it should help the other nubbies like me.
Okay then. But I must ask, since you already had another forum thread completly dedicated to this topic, that you post there instead of making a new thread. Thanks for the info!
i apologize if i have broken protocol i did explain my findings in the two threads which i had open on the subject. in my work i discovered that a number of people did not have a answer. the mac expert at TI-cares who has been at the job for nine years did not know about the undocumented use of the negative symbol in the print statement that you showed me or the solution until two phone calls and some digging at TI. after i put the solutions on the sits that were open i got no action. earlier i had gone on a web site called justanswer.com and agreed to spend money for an answer and spent 2 days on line trying to find an answer and got nowhere. i saw a article somewhere on the TI developer site about the undocumented print but no discussion about problems in TI connect and thought that i help more people by doing what i did.
again i apologize
