Right, here's my problem: I'm new to creating programs on the TI-84 and I want to make a basic RPG with a simple battle system (I'm ambitious, :P).
I'm having troubles with the battle intro. I want it to say: <insert name here> attacks. (Or something along those lines) and during battle, I picture it saying "The <whatever> hits you for <whatever> damage. I'm okay with the damage amounts and displaying the text, but I'm not sure how to make the enemy name appear. This is what I have so far (In english, not programming) and you'll see the problem.
Select "Battle" on the menu
Random number between 1 and 20 is found.
If Z=1
*
###
If Z=2 or 3
*
###
If 3<Z<8
***
###
Etc, etc.
Here's my dilemma. I'm new to programming these calculators and I'm not quite up to speed with all the tricks. Where I have *** I want to put in Q=<enemy name> and where I put in ### I want to say "goto battle " so that in my programming for the battle, I don't have to make a new battle program for each enemy, but instead I can just say "Q attacks" and the Q (Or any letter for all I care) is replaced with the enemy name.
Can you guys help me with this please?
