I was trying to connect my calculator to my computer today, and for some reason it asked me to reinstall it. So I did and it said it was successful, so I tried to dowload something to it, but TI-Connect could not find it. I tried every single USB port on my computer (alll of which asked me to reinstall it which I did), but it still won't work. Any suggestions?
That happened to me the first time i used ti connect. My problem was the most ridiculous thing in the world: Did you restart your computer after you installed it?
No, that didn't work, thank you for the suggestion though. I have used TI-Connect MANY times before, I do not know what made it stop working now.
go to control panel→system→hardware→device manager→usb ports→tieducational "stuff". press the "driver" tab, update driver, "yes, this time only" "install from a specific location", "dont search", "next", "finish"
it should work after that

I tried that, and I got to the 5th step, USB Ports, but then I couldn't find tieducation "stuff", I couldn't find anything about TIeducational at all. Did I do something wrong?
uncollapse everything. maybe it might show up. what operating system does your calc have? 2.41 and 2.43 are less picky

I uncollaped evrything, but it still was not there, and I have no idea what operating system it has, or if it even has one.
im assuming you have a ti83 or 84. the newest ti 83 OS is 1.19 (i think) and the 84 has 2.43. to see the version, press 2ND and plus [+]. then press (1) to go to the "about", which will show you.
what operating system do you have on your computer?
maybe you should uninstall everything, restart, inreinstall, restart, and try again. if it still doesnt work, click the "communication settings" button that comes up after TI connect finishes trying to find your calc. change the settings to the hardware you are using.
if it still doesnt work, i dont know what else to do except email ti

actually i have a problem very familiar to this…i can connect my calc but the PC does not recognize the calc, my TI software (1.6) i got with the calc does not work either, none of the buttons work, actually they never HAVE worked… however, using TI prgm editor i could send files but since my PC does not recognize the calc anymore (it did before) i can not transfer files… i have windows vista home premium i have already tried to reinstall everything, nothing worked. the ti-os is 2.43. any suggestions? (i have tried a other mini usb-usb cable (i have like 3 of those) but none of them worked)
unfortunately, no. i eventually managed to get my calcs to work after similar problems as
ngc0202. i dont know what i did to get ticonnect to work. this was before i broke my mini USB port due to overuse. now i am using a tisliverlink (or whatever the other port is called; i/o?)
