Hey all, I'm new here. I'm starting to get into programming TI-Basic, thanks to this website. Anyways, I've begun programming on my laptop (Windows 10) using the TI Connect CE App. It's going well, however having coded in python and java, I have been spoiled by VS studio code. I was wondering if there was an IDE designed to be used with TI BASIC. It would be nice to have a way to debug simple syntax errors, especially in my larger programs. It would also be nice to auto-fill functions like Disp, Input, ect (not sure if those are functions or not in this language). I'm designing my programs for use on the ti84 plus silver edition if that makes any difference on the development end. I'd love to hear how some of the veterans of this forum go about effectively coding really big programs. I apologize in advance for my ignorance, any help is greatly appreciated!

The pool of options is unfortunately quite limited.

• TI Connect CE's editor is fine, but lacks ASCII names for lots of tokens (instead requiring menus to select a token).
• TokenIDE has a command index, ASCII names, and some syntax highlighting, but no auto-filling. It's a very minimal IDE but it works well.
• SourceCoder on Cemetech is almost identical to TokenIDE, just online. It can edit other TI file types as well.

Note that each have slightly differing conventions on how to convert text to tokens. If you need to process a lot of code or a lot of files, use you can use tivars_lib_py or tivars_lib_cpp to automatically convert regular text files.

I personally use TokenIDE for medium-to-large projects, but if VS Code has spoiled you then you are sure to be disappointed. But there is still interest in the community for improved Basic tools, and input from coders such as yourself on what would be most useful is appreciated.
