I'm considering buying an older TI calculator such as the TI-81/82/85/66.

I'm considering buying an older TI calculator such as the TI-81/82/85/86 since they're only like 10$ on ebay right now. The reason I'd buy it would be to program on it. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also: I currently own a TI-83+ and it would be great if I could link it to the calculator I buy.

Honestly, if I were you, I'd buy a TI-84 Plus CE (Or at least a TI-84+SE). The older calculators are okay, but personally, I'd just run those in an emulator.

The TI-83+ Might not be able to link with those calculators you suggested (nor the TI-84+CE as well). But you can also run that in an emulator as well… your choice.

I know that's not any of the calc you requested, but this is my recommendation since I haven't used any of those.

I'd recommend the TI-86; though I don't own it it is the most powerful of the models you mentioned and also has a very nice library of assembly games and programs.
