When testing the second one to see how it looked, I found that the gradient is too sharp and bright. Although we want the site to have appealing features, we don't want to create potential distractions. Perhaps if the gradient was darkened and less sharp.

This actually reminds me of something James Kanjo mentioned. He mentioned that the site was bland and boring, and I initially rebutted it. However, after thinking about it a little, the colors are indeed sort of "depressing" and slow. The current theme is a little bland. My site had the same theme before, and I changed it for the same reason. Now it looks a lot better. I am starting to think that rather than adding decorations here and there, it might be better to change the theme altogether.
