TI Programming on YT!

TheOdd1sOut is a popular YouTuber generally known for animated storytelling, but recently he made a video on his second channel (TheOdd2sOut) where he programmed on his calculator. It's pretty funny watching him try and use TI-Basic. He makes a basic animation (using a lot of Disp's) and draws on the graph screen (but doesn't know how to erase).

Basically, I think it's pretty cool that a popular YouTuber programmed on a calculator. Since he has 2.15M subs, I'd say that could be good for the TI-Basic community. What do you guys think?

It'll definitely get people intrested, but the way that he was doing it was… sub-optimal. Hopefully the people intrested in it enough will spend the time on learning it though!

It's cool this is something being shown on yt, but the video is hardly informative honestly lol. Just putting a bunch of displays for the most part. Hard to believe I was once as big a noob as that… I remember when I was in high school I learned quite a bit of programming skills with my calculator and people definitely noticed, those were good times

That's cool. If some Youtubers start to program on graphing calculators, hopefully TI-Basic programming increases in popularity. TI-Basic and gaming on calculators seem to be growing in popularity at CVHS, so it seems that calculators are becoming more and more popular. I remember I used to start programming in TI-Basic in my 7th grade year. I got more into programming in my freshman year and since after I started that, people were like, "You can put games on calculators?!" I quickly gained popularity with putting games on calculators for other people. A good amount of people use the 84+, which is fine since there's still a good amount of games for the 84+, but the CE is gaining popularity. I still nowadays get asked to put games on calculators, but I'm not as popular however. Isn't a coincidence that lots of people start TI-Basic programming between your 7th-9th grade years?
