does anyone know how do non number seeds work with random number generators? like seed="abc", and then you get random numbers that are completely different from seed="aaa"

Most PRNG algorithms require that a seed be supplied to "prime the pump", so to speak; i.e., the numbers they generate are computed by starting from an initial state (the seed), which generates the random number and a new state from which the next call to it can start.

Of course, the details differ and will matter depending on the PRNG algorithm used… :)
