Hello everybody. Nice day, isn't it? So, for quite for majority for the summer, I've been thinking about it for a while, it's probably time to hang up the jacket for TI-Basic programming. Not that it's fun and very time consuming, but TI-Basic is starting age quite a bit. I know that there's lots of things you can do with it, but there's tons of other languages out there with higher capabilities that I'm missing out on! Yes, a calculator if fun to program on during free time, but there's lot's of limitations. Twenty-four kilobyte RAM, ~490kB ROM, not a whole ton to work with. I have a Raspberry Pi for petes sake with tons of languages on it that I still need to learn, but haven't attempted at all. Sure, TI-Basic was the seed that inspired me to program in the first place, but I can't program with it forever. I've heard most people don't even touch their calculators after high school. Who knows? Maybe I can be one of them. There's so many rich languages out there that carry so many capabilities that TI-Basic lacks. I'm heading into 11th grade this year, and I need to keep my head up in the game. It's been fun programming on my calculator, but it has very much slowed me down and cost me a lot of hours of my life that was meant for studying, homework, making up, and projects that I can't get back. Not that I haven't ever worked on that stuff or ever completed it, it's just that programmable calculators distract me a lot when I need to focus on things. I adore TI-Basic, I think it's a wonderful language to learn, teach, and experiment with, but soon it will be time to shut it off for good and move on. However, me taking a break or stopping with TI-BASIC doesn't mean I'll leave the site forever. I and other friends have made so many projects and programs in the past, which was pretty cool to do. I know I've been trying my best to "revive" this site and produce cool projects for others around the world to see, but there's so much that I can accomplish if I learn other languages. But in order to achieve my goals and dreams, I've gotta let it go♪. It's holding me back and preventing me on learning new things, and I need to actually realize that and break my habits and move on. I'll never forget TI-Basic or disregard it on how it started my programming courier, but there's better languages to program with. Now, I'm not saying this is a goodbye, but I am saying this is that it may be the end of my calculator courier. I'm not 100% sure on this big decision, because if I let go of it for good and realize it was a mistake, I may not be able to undo it. If you want, I would appreciate your support on this choice. It will help and guide me with my choices in mymprogramming future. Any comments and/or suggestions are highly appreciated!
