I recently found the Challenges page here, where a panel of judges reviewed submissions for a set of challenges they put out, and then determine winners from those submissions. I believe it's an awesome idea, and one heck of a way to spur more activity on the forums here at TI-BASIC DEV.
I'm just doing a quick interest check to see how many people would be interested in the idea, and if there are, I wouldn't mind be the one running the activity. ^.^
Here's how I'd imagine it:
1. A series of challenges would be posed out to the community, perhaps 10 or so.
2. The submissions for the challenges would be reviewed by a panel of judges who would then determine a winner.
3. All of the winners of the previous challenges would then proceed to a larger tournament, where a GRAND PRIZE (Steam Gift Card, Amazon Gift Card, etc.) would be awarded to the final victor.
The tournament may be a competitive 1v1 build-the-best-program, or it may simply be one challenge, and everyone will compete with each other simotaneously to build the best program. If there aren't enough people, perhaps multiple-time victors would earn points which would then help him/her out in the grand tournament.
What do ya guys think?
