Although this probably sounds unrealistic, I was wondering if there might be an image to calculator Pic converter. What I mean is, do you guys think it would be possible to take a photo of something using some camera(doesn't really have to be a good camera), convert it to black and white, pixelate it down to 94x62 pixels, and send that to the calculator? It would definitely require some external hardware/software.
Not hard at all. Just need some good image software like photoshop, gimp, paint, or mac's photo editing software, make contrast extremely high, resize the image through the pixels option, convert it to a BMP, rename the file and send it to the calc
The Silver Phantom welcomes you
I just found this, looks pretty good. I think if you just go to Adjustment and then click Threshold it will convert it to black and white pixels. You can also change the size of the picture in pixels by clicking Image and then Image Size…
Also since I don't have a cable or anything, if I can get an good enough picture that would look good on the calculator I'll use the Pen function instead, along with some other drawing commands.
I successfully finished drawing a BMW i8 concept car on the graph screen.
You can find it under Forum Attachments as TI83plusBMWi8.jpg. Check it out and let me know what you think :)
Open the picture in Paint (Right click>edit), use the Resize tool to decrease the size to 94x62 or less, and export the image as a GIF. Then use SourceCoder to upload the gif and convert it to .8xi format.
Don't do any of this! The official TI software will take an image and automatically do all this for you when you connect your calculator and add a picture variable. I've done it, it's really easy.
