Hi! I just started getting into programming this year. I have been studying Computer Science for the past year but it has been mostly hardware. I just started learning Java and found that TI- Basic can automate my entire stats class. I have been enjoying what I have learned and I hope to share my programs so other people in stats can take some shortcuts as well. I look forward to learning more about programming and hope I don't become annoying.

Welcome to TI-Basic Developer! Nice to meet ya! You chose an awesome website to look into TI-Basic programming. People are very nice here, so you don't need to worry about being annoying (It depends on your definition of annoying). I'm sure I am annoying too… I post a lot on this poor site (You can even look at my karma level). So I guess I could be annoying to some. But as far as I know, I'm not annoying (yet).

I recommend you take a look at the Forum Rules and the Code of Conduct to get to know more rules on the site. Enjoy your stay gentlewolf60! :)

My account may seem kinda lame or make it look like I'm some kind of noob, but I've been doing this for years now.

I have found this community to be the most helpful thing out there. There's also great content from users too!

Welcome to the TI-BD, gentlewolf60! I too wrote TI-Basic programs in my stats class. What I discovered, however, was that my programs didn't help other people I knew who were taking that class, because I understood the concepts well enough to write the code. The people I tried to help did not understand the concepts well enough to be able to use a lot of the more advanced functions I wrote (binomial probability distributions, hypergeometric cumulative distributions, etc.). My favorite memory, though, was being able to help my crush (who wouldn't date me, but whatever) in that class until she got so far behind on the homework that she had to drop the class. But it was fun while it lasted.

Anyways, I look forward to seeing you around here on the forums! Be sure to check out the Starter Kit if you haven't already! It provides a nice "boot camp" for TI-Basic programming.
