The TI-83 Calculator program that draws itself to make abstract art. Does anyone have the sourcecode for this?
Is this an actual program that was made or one that you want to make?
If it already exists, you can just download it as a .8xp file and head on over to Cemetech's SourceCoder to figure out what it is. If you want to make it, we'd be happy to help!
Thanks for the response!
Actually, it exists — the program, Random Art (art2.zip), can be found at ticalc.[org]/pub/83plus/basic/graphics/
("org" posted in brackets since I can't post links as a new user just yet)
However, the progra, is a .tig file. Thoughts on converting this to .8** or some readable file type?
I've never seen a tig file… This is beyond me… Maybe you can simply change the extension?
no, you cant.
.tig just means TI-Group. its the calculator's version of a .zip file. it can be extracted through 2nd memory, groups

Ah, I didn't know that it was a group file… I guess you learn something new every day!
So …. how exactly would you ungroup the .zip file using a computer?
using the computer? well, it should be accessible through TI-Viewer if i remember correctly. but itll be much easiert to go ahead and send it to the calc and ungroup it through the memory menu

Great! Where's the best place to download TI-Viewer?
I would send it to the calc … but I have no cord :(. Which cord would I buy if I wanted one for a Ti-83?
it comes with the TI-connect. you can download it at http://education.ti.com/en/us/products/computer_software/connectivity-software/ti-connect-software/features/features-summary
the Ti-83 uses a mini-usb, the same one an android uses.
