The goal with the screenshots on the main page was to showcase what was possible with TI-Basic including just pure TI-Basic as well as TI-Basic with assembly libraries. The reason the Axe-based programs were included was because I thought it made sense to also cover Axe on the site, but that never transpired due to lack of time and interest.

As far as updating the screenshots, I think new screenshots should be limited to quality programs and should be animated; still screenshots don't really add much pizzazz to the page.

I wasn't even trying animated screenshots; just pictures. I knew about GIF making on Wabbitemu but I never thought about doing that way.

You need to use an emulator like jsTIfied or Wabbitemu to make animated screenshots. If you have a CE, you can use CEmu.

Speaking of which, I was having some trouble making screenshots for my new puzzle game FLOW to put on the archive page. I had my TI-84+CSE hooked up to my laptop and tried using the TI-Connect screen capture but it kept making an error. Any possible troubleshooting you know of?

It may also be good to implement some of the color calculator screenshots along with monochrome, so as to appeal to more people :)

I have noticed this as well. Some of the games like DoodleJump are pretty cool, but they are also misleading. A while back I added a module at tibasicdev.wikidot.com/screenshot to list all of the screenshots. If you could note the numbers of the non TI-BASIC/hybrid games and possibly a list of notable alternatives, I could replace them with something more appropriate. I also think this would be a good idea because most of the screenshots have remained unchanged for many years, so it might bring some new life to TI|BD.

There is something that irked me for a while: On TI-BASIC Developer front page, there are screenshots of games made using Axe Parser language that sometimes appears. Was this intentional as an attempt to branch the site out from just TI-BASIC, or were they added by people who thought that they were games written with xLIB, Omnicalc and other hybrid TI-BASIC libraries (3 level grayscale in Axe looks similar to xLIB grayscale)? Because I think they might be misleading if someone plans to make such elaborate game, only to realize later that the screenshots were not from TI-BASIC or hybrid programs and that his goal will be unachievable. Some people might also think that the admins are trying to pass Axe games off as BASIC games.
