We are storing a set value (2). I have just discovered that it is <em>quicker</em> to store a set value to a variable than it is to store Ans to a variable. And like you said, it is only a one digit number so no memory is saved. So you are correct &#8212; I should not have changed the <tt>2→A:2→B</tt> to <tt>2→A:Ans→B</tt>. And there was no need to <tt>‾Ans→C</tt> if it saves no bytes and is slower &#8212; so that one should remain <tt>‾2→C</tt>.</p> <p>BUT, you should save memory with the ones after that: <tt>‾2→C:Ans→E:Ans→F:Ans→H</tt></p> <p>Thanks for pointing that out Jonathan &#8212; you learn something new every day!</p> <p><strong><em>EDIT:</em></strong> I hate it when this happens. 						 <p>Ok. I'm not sure whether this belongs here, because it's sort of a &quot;Code In Progress&quot;, but theres no section for that, so here i am. I'm developing this game and I need a fast way for computer players. I.E. The Teacher, im deciding to do if you get within 1 block of the teacher you lose instead of the whole vision thing&#8230; And i tried adding it, buuuut it made it so slow, it sometimes made me HOLD a button just to move. The Vars in the game are: [A] is the map matrix. Strings are Str1,2,3,4, and 5. Those are used for the text sprites. Anyone who has analyzed &quot;Donut Quest&quot; should be familiar with the technique. Theres 5 strings, each with 1 part of a texture. So when i'm drawing i do the Nth part of the string. So if i want a wall in the map, on the matrix i'll do [blah,3,blah,more blah]. When it runs it draws the 3rd part of each string. BTW: A wall's texture is &quot;XYJXX&quot;. The Characters coordinates are A and B. The Matrix character coordinates are C and D. Any other questions please ask me. I've been working alot on this and i really need help.
