Now if I could only get a cable that can reach across the classroom… Definitely a +
Or better yet, since I am working on a computer to calculator solution, be able to hook it up to your computer and send messages.
that seems rather pointless… why don't you just send messages using your computer?
It's the can that matters — not the why!
Yeah lol. But if your in a school, my school blocks IM programs.

I don't know who made this program, but have you thought about trying to make a piece of hardware that attaches to the calculator to enable remote availability? This would improve it's usage 100x. Also, if your school blocks IM programs, just use a website with an IM program built into it's background, like www.runehints.com/desktop . You'll have to sign up, but I use it almost every day.

Awesome! I've always wanted to make a wireless option for calcs to connect, I was thinking about using infra red, but all the infra red things I could find were to large and they didnt send signals very far. I will look into blue tooth some, and see if i can create my own version.

Yes, they make those, but they don't work very well or they only send data to one spot, e.g. your teacher, b/c you are doing a graphing challenge or something… My teacher said he was trying to get that system- at the beginning of the year.
I actually have one of those…. thanks to a male miniusb to male usb adaptor.
You guys are making fun of the "uses…" It actually would be quite useful for chatting during math class. XD My friends take 3 minutes to type a sentence, so it would be slow, but its better than nothing. I've always wanted to find a customized I/O cable online with two jacks and some kind of radio or wireless frequency to connect the two without wires.

Urg! I got ninja'd…

AGH!!!
ME AND MY FRIEND HAS BEEN ATTEMPTING TO CREATE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION BETWEEN CALCULATORS FOR 2 MONTHS AND I NOW SEE THIS PAGE?!?!?
The Silver Phantom welcomes you
Bluetooth seems too advanced… What about using some kind of radio frequency? That would go a decent distance, right?
