From Basic Avalanche Plus: "This is one of my most basic games, however it is still kind of addicting :P You must collect the falling "+" signs and avoid the falling "-" signs. Failure to do so will result in Game Over. High score included. CONTROLS: Left and Right Arrow keys to move, CLEAR to quit at any time." |

Here is the written code for the color version. Credit to Michael2_3B for being the first to spin-off Avalanche for TI calculators.
Great Job Myles! I just re-uploaded the file in a .zip folder with a README. Hope you don't mind.
:)
This is a really minor thing, but do you need a .zip file to have a README? Because .zip files require special (not-free) software to open them. That is why I always upload programs in a .8xp file. It just makes it a little easier for others to access the code.
1) Nah, not all files need the README, but it makes explanation of the game/code easier.
2) Special software to open compressed files? I don't think so... Macs and Windows computers are able to open .zip files on their own, without software. Even if software is needed, 7-zip can be used, and it's free.
Myles: Nice game Myles!
Squid: Your right, Macs and Windows computers are able to open .zip files on their own, without software. It's as easy as opening the Notepad or Garage Band on the Mac for example.
When I was first learning TI-Basic by going through the Starter Kit, the information was geared toward monochrome calculators. I had to learn how to adapt different things for color calculators on my own (I only own a TI-84+ CE). That's why I try to adapt different games for color calculators. I want to show others that cool games can be made for the color calculators too. Unfortunately, I can only adapt games that use the homescreen, as the aspect-ratio difference between monochrome and color calculators makes it near-impossible to port games that use the graphscreen. Maybe someday, perhaps even after I leave TI-Basic Developer, someone will come along and make breakthroughs in making games using the graphscreen on color calculators and figure out how to port older games.
That's a really smart idea, colored games truly attract the attention of many people. Keep up the great work! Perhaps someone like you said will come along and make breakthroughs in making games using the graphscreen on color calculators. Let's just hope that day comes sooner than later:)
Well, I sure didn't know that. I guess we really do learn something new every day!
Trust me, life it self is a learning experience for us all:)
LOVE IT. Goes to the archive. A great little game to analyse for me as beginner.

This was actually the first game I programmed on my calculator. I copied the code then upgraded it, adding different difficulties and more high scores and such.
